Brief and short is better than nothing

I don't have as much time for blogging as I would like to have. I've got two exams coming up: one written exam, which will be fairly easy and one oral exam, which will be fairly hard with lots of stuff to memorize and understand(it's mostly logic stuff again...).
If I'm not learning, I'm crafting or surfing the net a bit. Writing blog entries would take away the little free time I have, so they will be scarce and probably also quite brief. I will try to make up for that with a few photos though ;-)

I LOVE fleamarkets!

We went to three fleamarkets today and I brought something at everyone of them!
First these 7 vintage craft books for 2€!!! There's some really cute stuff in the kid books and the crochet one has a whole really big section about everything you could ever want to know about crochet. I just skipped through it, but a lot of techniques I had never seen are desribed in it and they even show how to connected different crochet forms like flowers and such.

Then at the second fleamarket was a really nice lady who wanted only 1€ for the bottom ribbon you can see in the next photo. And when I asked what everything would cost together she said: "Oh well, it's so nice to see young girls interested in crafts...what about 2€?"!!! I haven't measured them yet, but that's a bargain for sure!

And at the last fleamarket I got this bag full of zippers for 3.50€. It was a fantastic day! Crafty post tomorrow.

Excuses

or another post without real pics.
I've finished a few projects, but they either haven't been blocked yet or are in the washer. Also I've been rather busy with secret pal or swapping projects I can't blog about. That's part of the reason the blog was so quite lately. I actually started writing two posts, but never completed them. I was just not in a blogging mood lately and would rather knit or sew than sit in front of the computer. This mood has changed, but now I have nothing to really blog about...typical!
It's just like shopping for clothes, if you are broke there are a thousand pieces you would buy if you could and then if you have the money you can find nothing that you like or that fits you. This is more or less what clothing shopping is like for me at the moment. I'm searching for a black skirt and where there were plenty of them before I can find none...atleast not in my size. Which is a whole complain in itself. How is it that what ever size I have the clothes I like always have a different one? I've been looking for some great vintage dresses lately, found a few really nice dresses at a fleamarket last sunday and they all were too big! Like two clothing sizes two big...
Though I ended up buying a few patterns at the fleamarket to sew my own dresses and a vintage knitting mag:

Tired

Why am I tired? Because I got a last minute ticket to a concert yesterday!!!
My mum's friend wanted to go with a co-worker to a concert, but he had to go on a business trip, which he found out on friday. So I got his ticket and what is even better is that I only have to pay half of the cost of the ticket!
Oh, what concert it was? Placebo! Now, I'm not a big fan and I haven't even listened to the new album, but I do like the music. The concert was great, not the best I ever went to, but not bad either.
I came home at 00:15 am and instead of going to bed I watched tv and knit lace till 2am...
Which is why I am now very tired. Nevertheless I went to a fleamarket today though much later than I would have usually gone(11am instead of 9am). There were a number of brooches I eyed for more than just a minute, but I passed them. Oh, in case you don't know, my newest obsession are brooches. Preferably older ones. At the moment I'm searching for a colorfull one to accent a black blousedress I brought recently.
But of course I did buy some things:

-two comics for 2€ each; the left is "lord of the rings"(I bet Tolkien would turn over in his grave over this one ;-)) and the other one is an "Aliens" comic.
-some pin/brooch things to make my own
-glass beads in the shape of what looks like cats

Well, I did promise some knitting content and here it is. I recently spun yarn and plied it and then I knitted a super quick scarf out of it on size 9mm needles. I love the colors and it's a really warm scarf, but unfortunately it's not cold enough outside to wear it yet :-(

More knitting content to come, next week or another...bad knitting blogger, no cookie for me!

Back...and fully stuffed!

Just a quick post as I've got a bunch of stuff to do for university.
The weekend was fine, though it rained on saturday:

I had taken the camera with me to finally play around with it some more and show you the city my mum was born in. I wanted to take advantage of the saturday afternoon when my mum and grandaunt make their "beauty sleep", but it was miserable weather and I just took a short walk to the little local yarn shop to buy some DPNs I had forgotten to take with me(finished the second sweater over the weekend!).

These are the only two other photos I took. They show the Weihnachtsmarkt in front of the "castle"-it's not really a castle, atleast not what you would normally think of as one, but it's over 600 years old(build 1340!).
The rest of the weekend activities were meeting relatives, going to a fleamarket(pics later) and eating, lots of eating!

fleamarket finds don't count...

...to any kind of yarn diet! Yes, that's the truth and I'm sticking to it, besides nobody could have past that bargain. But first things first: weatherman/lady your in trouble should I ever meet you! They said that the saturday would be a wonderfull sunny day in WHOLE Germany...it wasn't at the coast! It didn't really rain as in getting totally soaked, but there was more than just a few drops which sucks when going to a fleamarket especially when you're only wearing a light cardigan over a dress(fortunately I was wearing some linnen pants too). I made some great bargains nonetheless. My mum on the other hand only brought some self-made bread ;-)
Here is a pic of it all:
There's a whole plastic bag with undyed yarn(it's not as white as in the pic) which is probably cotton or a cottonmix. Haven't weighted it yet, but I guess it's about 1kg for 6€!!!
And finally I found a pot for dyeing yarn. It's really hard to find a bigger pot at the fleamarket and I didn't wanted to buy a new one just for yarn dyeing.
There's also two needle cases with DPNs and circulars together for 4€! The woman was a friend of my mum's cousin's wife, so we got them for less ;-)
Having just envied the vintage bags at that website I just had to buy the one you can see in the pic for 1,50€! I really love fleamarkets, don't know what I would do without them!
There's also a brooch which is actuall a birthday present for me from my mum, so theoratically I would have to wait untill I can use it...
At the bottom are a few postcards and notepads with pictured/prints of Cuxhaven/the coast.
Here are a few close-ups:

After yesterdays scores it was inevitable that today I wouldn't find much. I only brought this needle case which is for straight needles...yes, I know I just sewed one and I don't own that many straights anyway, but it's kind of cute and I just had to buy something...
